LG G2 Lollipop Update Android 5.0: Bugs, Release Date and

LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update has been rolled out in a selected regions, but is expected to have a much larger rollout in the coming weeks. Today, were going to discuss this update and talk about a few things we expect to see as the rollout expands.

Expected Release of the LG G2 update

Theres no telling exactly when the LG G2 will start to get the official Lollipop update from LG and their carriers. Some believe it will happen within the first half of 2015, but with it already being March, I have my doubts. Well probably start to see the rollout begin within the first half of this year, but I dont think the majority of LG G2 customers will have the Lollipop update until after the summer season. LG has been very meticulous about their Lollipop rollout for the LG G3, and I suspect that will happen again with the LG G2 update.

Release Order

We dont expect the United States to get the LG G2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update first and we wouldnt be surprised if European countries got it before the US. Poland was the first to get the LG G3 Lollipop update, with South Korea being second in line. We expect a very similar pattern to be followed with the LG G2, as they often choose a few small countries to test out the latest software updates. This is generally done because it allows them to test an update on a small subset of customers, in order to see if any bugs pop up. Updates in smaller countries can also be completed in a relatively short amount of time. This allows LG to start a rollout and complete it quickly, so they can move on and test the update in another market.

Expect Delays

We do our best to bring you the latest information from around the world about Android updates in all of the various markets. So, when news of an update in a certain market breaks out, we expect there to be a reasonable amount of delay before news of the next update goes out. During this time, LG is working closely with those carriers in that market to make sure everything is running smoothly. They also take this time to start working on the update for the next market they have on their list. This cycle will continue until the LG G2 has been updated to Lollipop all around the world. So dont expect to see news about updates constantly flowing out. These things take time and the longer LG is able to work on the update before it goes out to your device, the more critical bugs they will be able to squash.

Multiple Bugs

I dont think there has ever been an Android update that has been released that didnt include at least one bug in some form or another. Even if Google released a 100% bug-free version of stock Android, there is still going to be new code put on top of it (OEM skin/features). This OEM skin and those additional features compound the possibility of even more bugs surfacing up. The LG G2 should be getting Android 5.0.2 Lollipop in its first round of software updates. We dont know if LG will be updating it to 5.1 Lollipop afterwards, but even Android 5.0.2 Lollipop has its share of bugs. Most of them should be minor and the critical ones should be fixable in some way or another.
