The LG G4 is LGs flagship Android phone for 2015, and its a worthy successor to the LG G3, with an excellent 16-megapixel camera, Snapdragon 808 processor, and a 5.5-inch Quad HD screen. When will the G4 go on sale?
In mid-May, LG outlined its release plans for the G4. Starting May 18, LG will put the G4 on sale in Hong Kong, followed by Turkey, Russia, and Singapore. Continuing into June, the G4 will be ready to buy in North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and other parts of the world. Eventually, itll be sold by 180 different networks globally.

Itll come on Verizon and U.S. Cellular on June 4, and on AT&T June 5.
Sprint and U.S. Cellular will bundle a few gratis extras with their G4 variants: a 32GB MicroSD card, an extra 3,000mAh battery, and a battery charging cradle. Sprint will offer the G4 starting June 5.
T-Mobile is giving customers who sign up through May 25 a chance to test the G4 before it becomes widely available. In addition, the carrier announced itll exclusively carry the brown leather version of the G4. Preorders for the G4 kick off on T-Mobiles site May 27, and youll get a 128GB MicroSD card as part of the bargain. On June 3, customers will be able to pick up a G4 in the carriers retail locations.
How much will it cost?
Local prices will be announced by network partners in the U.S., but its not expected to be cheap if you want to buy it outright. Early rumors put the Korean version at the equivalent of $825 without a contract, and an LG spokesperson told ET News the company was aiming at a similar price tag worn by the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. Sprint and AT&T will offer the G4 for $199 on a two-year contract. Sprints selling it for $599 unlocked, and T-Mobiles mirroring that unlocked price while Verizons offering it slightly cheaper at $550. AT&Ts unlocked pricing starts at$629.99. (If youre looking for a deal, Best Buys giving $100 gift cards to those who preorder from the retailers website.)
In the UK the G4 can be preordered through online retailer Clove Technology, where the unlocked, SIM-free phone is priced at £500, which is around $790. The company expects the phone to arrive ready for shipping on May 28.
What about the G4s specification?
The G4 has a subtler curve than the LG G Flex2, and comes with either a plastic rear cover, or a very swish genuine leather option. Wed opt for the latter every time it looks and feels spectacular compared with the plastic. Heres the spec:
- 5.5-inch IPS screen with a 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution
- Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor with 3GB of RAM
- 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel selfie cam.
- Android 5.1
- 32GB of memory, MicroSD card slot
- 3000mAh removable battery
- 4G LTE
